I woke up this morning and hey, NO MONDAY BLUES!
Why ah? It has been so long since I feel kinda carefree on a MOnday morning.
Ok, not that I do not have work to do....
I had to report for duty in the morning but it was just for a short while, 8 - 9:30 am.
After that , I was FREE FREE FREE! Happy like bird! Haha.... is there such a simile?
However, hubby was still at work although he is supposed to knock off earlier than usual . BUt all the better, I could go shopping for his presents.
Now , that is another headache. His birthday is this Saturday and we have made a pact. All our past birthdays have been rather costly ...be it in terms of celebrations or presents.
So this year, we agreed on a budget for each other. $500 NETT. It was quite stressful to think of how to do it with just that amount. I begged him to extend it a bit .... you know, lunch/dinner will cost a lot.
He said , $550 max. Oh well, better than nothing.
Thus, now I am doing some budgeting. I am quite determined to spend lower than that. I can do it!
Furthermore, mummy's birthday is on the same date so I have to spend for one more person. All the more reason I should do careful budgeting, right?
Milk Junkie - Diapercake
This was a little stressful because the order came just a day before .
And I had a medical appointment , needed to get things ready for nephew's party and then the celebration itself that same night.
Thank goodness I managed to squeeze in the last minute shopping , amidst the hectic schedule.
I call this Milk Junkie - for obvious reason :)

Four Suspects Nabbed
I am sure most of us would have read/heard about the stabbing in cident at Downtown East. Husby told me about it on Sunday morning.
When I first heard the news , I was naturally shocked .... then came fear, sadness and anger.
1) Downtown East is a family place. Heck, we are there practically every week, either to make a pit stop at Coffee Bean, get dinner or hop over to Macs for a night snack. The incident happened at around 6 pm on a Saturday !!! OMG. Crowds of witnesses...I would probably faint if I had seen it with my own eyes.
2) Staring incident? Oh, come one! You've heard of quarrels or fights with the same reason. Although that is still wrong, killing takes it to a whole new level! What in the world were these youths doing with their brains (if any)?!
3) This is different from the Orchard Towers incident. That was pre-planned so the weapons were understood (again , NOT condoning). But this was spontaneous and those murderers actually had parangs with them. Seriously, what the hell.... I feel so angry just thinking about it. We are not talking about deserted alleys.... this is a family leisure area yet, you have such idiots hanging around. Such blatant disregard for the law and public's safety should be punished severely.
4) The victim was husby's ex-student...he taught him many years ago. Now, I fear for my students. We always advise them not to hang out till late at night, always be in places where there are a lot of people....yadayadayada..... but does it matter now? When a murder can take place in broad daylight , in FULL VIEW of hundreds of people perhaps? Sigh..... I think I fear for everyone now....
5) I am 'amazed' at the murderers' stupidity. Again , referring to the Orchard Towers incident, that was done in the wee hours in the morning , at a deserted place, but suspects were caught in a matter of days. Now , obviously that did not strike their minds - that they would be caught, with the efficiency of Singapore law and the numerous CCTVs around. Perhaps, that is what one calls "young blood" . I am not impressed.
According to the article this morning, four suspects have been caught. All are above 18 and thus subjected to death penalty if convicted. Good riddance and hopefully , a good deterrant.
I hope the family of the deceased will stay strong .... and I really pray for the safety of all youths (or otherwise) out there .
I still believe Singapore is a very safe place to be in .....with the exception of such mindless acts once in a while.

Police arrest four suspects over Downtown East murder
Downtown East in Pasir Ris
SINGAPORE: Police have arrested four Chinese male suspects, aged between 18 and 20 years, in connection with the murder of a youth at Downtown East in Pasir Ris on Saturday.
Darren Ng Wei Jie, 19, was attacked by a group of persons. He sustained serious injuries and died in hospital.
Police arrested the suspects on Monday evening after establishing their identities following thorough investigations.
Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Ng Boon Gay, Director of Criminal Investigation Department, commended the police officers for their extensive investigations and speed in apprehending the suspects.
He said, "Such violent behaviour and blatant disregard for the law will not be condoned. Police will see to it that those who perpetuate violence will be dealt with to the fullest extent of our laws."
The four suspects will be charged in court with murder on Wednesday. If convicted, they face the death penalty.

STUCK!
What would you if you get stuck in a car , alone , with no one to talk to?
I suffered through that when I was stuck ( no, not in a traffic jam on the road) but while waiting to enter the underground carpark at the mall.
I had a date with an ex-JC mate.... it was a Sunday , LUNCH HOUR... I had no idea why I decided to drive. Taking the bus or MRT would be way more convenient!
Being a fidgety person , I just had to do something... so, I decided to touch up on the make-up.... LOL. But that didn't take long since make-up was obviously still very intact....
I ended taking some pictures of the interior of the car, such as......

There were probably about ten cars before me
and I was already waiting for 10 - 15mins. That
may not sound like it is THAT long but trust me,
when you just have yourself to entertain, it sucks.

The smurf dolls I bought in Sydney last year.
I just realised they were all in a "I am dead"
position. I am positive this is due to the itchy
fingers of my nephew :)
Lovely tissue box cover given by mycousin more
than 2 years back. The colour is a very
sweet pink but too bad , there was bad lighting .
Hahaah.... This is always a joke. I have this
habit of piling up all the used coupons on my
dashboard. Dad always teases me, asking
if I am trying to redeem prizes with them.
Finally reached the gantry but carpark was full.
I had to wait another 10 minutes at the gantry. My
friend , who parked at another place much further
away , was already seated in the restaurant by then....
The agony......
Thank god for audio entertainment!
I kinda forgot that I had a book with me , else, I could have just read it to fill up the time.
That was really a long wait.... I have learnt my lesson (yet again).....next time, go public during peak hours!
